Blightman's performance ‘After Party A/W 25/26' momentarily moves the audience through a 12-minute composition by London-based composers Wayne Binitie and Art Lewy. This specially commissioned soundtrack was realised together with the paintings and garments of A/W 25/26. The soundtrack draws on multiple genres, classical and modern and acts like that of an after-party playlist, moving through different energies of an evening, igniting different elements, and incorporating ideas of a fashion show; architectural surroundings, music, dance and paintings, all moving in the midsummer light.
The locally based dancers Sarafina Beck & Harumi Mumenthaler have devised the movement in relation to the paintings and soundtrack. Along with the catwalk models, they wear a selection of Blightman’s A/W 25/26 collection, which draw from the paintings in the installation ‘House Party’ as well as photographic imagery of fireworks and other monumental buildings.
