Overview

Eunjo Lee is a South Korean artist and filmmaker based in London and Seoul whose work explores the ecological interconnectedness of various entities, ranging from humans and nature to objects and concepts. By drawing on theoretical frameworks that integrate ecological consciousness with relational vitality, she employs mythological elements to reevaluate human ontological positioning, emphasising the unique role of digital art in depicting these complex relationships.

In her works Lee uses gaming-graphics software such as Unreal Engine and Blender to create spectacular, immersive worlds. She employs deliberately slow tempos and tension-filled scores to create narratives rich in symbolism that are evocative and layered. Non-living matter in the form of ruins and stones are at the heart of these narratives, with the protagonist depicted moving slowly around them, as if always considering the essence of their natures.

Lee recently graduated in MFA Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford, winning the Mansfield-Ruddock Art Prize 2024. In 2023, she was awarded the Warden’s Prize from Goldsmiths University for her BA in Fine Art and History of Art. Her recent film, ‘Lullaby O’ The Ruin’ has been chosen for the final selection to be screened at NeMaf, the Seoul International ALT Cinema & Media Festival 2024.

Eunjo previously created 3D visuals for the Techno-Tantrik Embodiment Project ‘Your Rage Is Sacred’ at Goldsmiths and FormaHQ in collaboration with artist Clémentine Bedos (2023), produced Paris Paloma’s ‘Last Woman on Earth’ lyric video (2024), showcased her video art in various screenings including Modern Art Oxford (2024), and participated in several group exhibitions.  Eunjo Lee had her first institutional exhibition at the Goldsmiths CCA in March 2025.
